Beast

Every man has a beast

That’s what my mother said

From the greatest to the least

It lives inside their head

It comes out in the middle of the night

When pretty girls go to sleep

If you show, it will bite

What you’ve sowed, you will reap

So if you are too nice

Or seem to be too meek

Even a smile with suffice

He will take what he seeks

A family member, why don’t you say hi?

I already told you mom, I would rather die

I told you what happened one warm evening in summer

You were barely surprised, it was hardly a bummer

Well I was almost touched too, an uncle, a neighbour

Just keep it to yourself, please do me the favor

It’s your fault you were grabbed

That’s what mother said

It felt like I was stabbed

Hush now, go back to bed
